A case of Sézary Syndrome successfully treated with baxarotene

Bexarotene, a synthesized retinoid X receptor agonist, is a treatment for cutaneous T-cell lymphoma that is newly available in Japan. We describe a 31-year-old woman with Sézary syndrome who was successfully treated with bexarotene and narrow-band UVB therapy. Her disease activity has remained in remission for 14 month with this combination therapy. Although bexarotene induces hypothyroidism and hyperlipidemia, these were well-controlled with oral levothyroxine sodium and pitavastatin.
