Merkel細胞癌─多臓器転移の病理解剖症例─

・多臓器転移で不幸な転帰をたどったMerkel細胞癌（MCC）の1例を経験し，かつ病理解剖の機会を得た．

・病理解剖の結果，自験例の直接死因は，MCCの骨髄転移による免疫不全状態，免疫不全状態に続発したサイトメガロウイルス肺炎と推察された．

・生前に放射線治療が施行された部位には再発巣が存在しなかったことから，MCCに対し放射線治療は有効な治療選択肢であると考えられる．

A case of Merkel cell carcinoma –An autopsy case of multiple organ metastasis–

72-years-old, male. He visited to our hospital with an erythematous nodule on upper lip. It was diagnosed with Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC)by biopsy. The lesion disappeared with radiation therapy. Two years later, a nodule appeared on the chest. It was diagnosed with recurrence of MCC. Soon after, he died of respiratory failure. Autopsy was performed. We found multiple organ metastases and mycoplasma pneumonia. However, no lesions were found in the primary site and its regional lymph nodes. This fact suggests that radiation therapy is effective for MCC.
