はじめに

　U40ワーキンググループ（U40 working group：U40-WG）の設立の経緯とこれまでの活動内容は，前項 “U40のあゆみ―0から1への挑戦の軌跡―” で記載したとおりである。本論文では，U40-WGの現状と位置づけを振り返り，公益社団法人日本麻酔科学会の若手部会としてのU40-WGの存在意義と今後の展望を述べる。

　The U40 Working Group（U40-WG）is part of the Public Relations Committee of the Japanese Society of Anesthesiologists（JSA）and is composed of young JSA members. The U40-WG is important from three perspectives：the participation of young anesthesiologists in the activities of the JSA, the contribution of this working group to the implementation of JSA projects, and the status of human resources in the field of anesthesiology. The U40-WG will carry out short-term projects such as planning a science symposium incorporating the viewpoints of young JSA members and booth exhibitions for face-to-face interactions with members while focusing on outreach activities through social media. In addition, the U40-WG plans to continue its activities with a long-term perspective aimed at the development of anesthesiology, such as identifying problems in the field and proposing solutions. The U40-WG is committed to work based on a future-oriented philosophy that aims to give back to the public and society.
