はじめに

　日本麻酔科学会U40ワーキンググループ（U40 working group：U40-WG）では，日本麻酔科学会公式X（旧Twitter）を運用している。ソーシャルネットワーキングサービス（social networking service：SNS）を活用する意義とは？　公式アカウントはどのようにして生まれたのか？　本論文ではU40-WGと日本麻酔科学会公式Xの関わりについて述べたい。

　Many individuals and organizations are using social media for various purposes. The U40-Working Group（WG）of the Japanese Society of Anesthesiologists（JSA）launched the official Twitter（X）account of the JSA in June 2022 to share information about the JSA with younger members. U40-WG members, who already use Twitter personally, collaborate to create tweets for the official account. The JSA office reviews these tweets before their publication. This team-based management approach helps distribute responsibility and prevents potential social media incidents. The official JSA Twitter account serves multiple purposes：raising public awareness about anesthesia, introducing the JSA’s academic journal, and sharing updates about the JSA with members. In June 2024, the U40-WG held a symposium on social media at the JSA Annual Meeting.

　The U40-WG will continue its social media activities, and we are actively recruiting new members to join the WG.
