原発性腎細胞癌に対する標準的な治療は外科的切除であり，特に部分切除は根治的腎切除に比較すると有効性が高く，術後合併症が低いことが知られている。しかし腎機能が低下している場合などでは，手術不適応になることもあり，根治的治療が望めない場合もある。

Preliminary study for clinical utility of ^99mTc-MAG3 renal dynamic scintigraphy in patients with renal cell carcinoma treated with carbon-ion radiotherapy（CIRT）was performed.

^99mTc-MAG3 scintigraphy is a useful noninvasive diagnostic tool in the assessment of the split renal function after CIRT in patients with renal cell carcinoma. Accurate functional assessment and follow-up of the remaining renal parenchyma after treatment is crucial, especially in patients with impaired renal function. ^99mTc-MAG3 scintigraphy-based assessment of renal function before and after treatment can contribute to safer treatment decision-making and post-treatment management.
