食餌性イレウスの頻度は，全イレウス中の約1％と比較的まれであり，術前診断は難しい場合が多いとされている^1）。

A man in his 80 s presented with complaints of vomiting. Computed tomograpy showed a mass with air density in the duodenum, apparently reflecting impaction of a bublly mass. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy found a foreign body matching that noted by computed tomography in the duodenum. Using a snare, the foreign body was retrieved and identified as a shiitake mushroom. A shimeji mushroom was also recovered at the same time.
