致死的心室頻脈に対して高線量を一回で照射する心臓への定位放射線治療（stereotactic body radiotherapy：SBRT）が注目されている。詳細は別稿に記載されているので，本稿では心臓疾患に不慣れな放射線治療関係者の立場から理解を補う形で述べていきたい。

Recently, stereotactic body radiotherapy（SBRT）for severe ventricular tachycardia（VT）is drawing attention from radiation oncology fields as well as from the cardiologists. Although another article in the same issue of the journal described the fundamental, methodology and current situation of the world in detail, some additional information dedicated for radiation oncologists, medical physicists or technologists will be helpful. The cardiac SBRT is an emerging technology and therefore the mechanism, long term adverse events or even the efficacy is yet to be known. Prospective scientific studies should be carried out in the near future.
