救急外来だけではなく，日常の外来においても外傷を受けた小児の骨折を診断するために多くの単純X線が撮られている。だが，慣れていないと小児の骨折の診断は難しく，所見が軽微な骨折は見逃されることもある。小児は成長過程にあるため，骨折を正しく診断・整復しておかなければその後に骨の変形や短縮をきたす可能性もあるため，やはり早期診断は重要である。

Diagnosis of pediatric fractures is difficult, because pediatric bone is different structurally and pathologically from that of adults. We will illustrate some characteristic cases of pediatric fractures in terms of incomplete fracture, physeal fracture, elbow fracture, classic metaphyseal fracture（CML）due to child abuse, septic arthritis and osteomyelitis. There are some important clues to diagnose pediatric fractures, that is, understanding of the bone development and healing process of fracture, and getting good radiographic images with appropriate position.
