炎症性筋線維芽細胞腫瘍（inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor：IMT）は筋線維芽細胞を主体とする腫瘍性病変の一つで，かつては炎症性偽腫瘍と考えられていた。肺に発生することが広く知られているが，肺以外の全身の組織にも発生しうるとされている。今回，横行結腸から発生したIMTの1例を経験したので，若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

We report a case of 47-year-old man with slight fever. CT and MRI showed a large mass, which occupied the abdominal cavity in contact with the wall of the transverse colon. CT colonography（CTC）showed the deformity of transverse colon by the mass. The mass demonstrated high FDG uptake on 18F-FDG PET/CT. The mass was resected along with the part of the transverse colon, and determined histopathologically to be an IMT. Even if it may be difficult to distinguish IMT from other abdominal tumor, it is important to consider the possibility of this tumor for adequate treatment.
