NANDA International
NANDA International is an organization with a vision and mission of global significance. NANDA International's mission is to facilitate the development, dissemination, use, and evaluation of a standardized nursing diagnosis terminology. The vision of NANDA International is to become the global leader for the development and use of nursing's standardized nursing diagnosis terminology in order to improve the healthcare of all people.
NANDA International is the only professional organization with an entire focus on the development of nursing concepts/terminology. The cover of our new brochure says it well, stating that our organization “develops terminology to describe the important judgments nurses make.”Our work is significant because these judgments are grounded on assessment data from individuals, families, and communities. The NANDA International language is the only language that provides a clear definition plus defining characteristics (signs and symptoms) to assist nurses assess thoroughly. The related factors and risk factors add more information or data that assist nurses in making judgments, or nursing diagnosis.
