【コラム】抗MRSA薬ceftarolineの使用について—開発の経緯，臨床データ，使用の実際を中心に

Antistaphylococcal agent：ceftaroline

ceftarolineは，日本で開発された抗MRSA活性をもつセファロスポリン注射薬で，グラム陰性桿菌に対してもセフトリアキソンと同等の活性をもつ。米国では，成人の急性細菌性皮膚軟部組織感染症および細菌性市中肺炎感染症などに対して承認されている。菌血症・心内膜炎，中枢神経感染症，院内肺炎などに対する治療も報告されているが，総じてケースレポートやケースシリーズといった後方視的研究であり，その有用性に関して他剤と比較することは困難である。日本国内で承認・販売される予定は明らかではない。

Ceftaroline is a cephalosporin with anti MRSA activity originally developed in Japan. It also has activity against gram-negative organisms similar to ceftriaxone. In the United States, it is approved for acute bacterial skin and soft tissue infections as well as acute bacterial community acquired pneumonia in adults. There have been multiple case reports and case series describing its use for other indications such as bacteremia, endocarditis, central nervous system infections, and nosocomial pneumonia. However, given the retrospective nature and lack of control groups in these studies, its efficacy is uncertain. Presently, it is unclear if it will be approved and used clinically in Japan.
