はじめに

　咽喉頭異常感の原因診断とX線検査法において最も重要な対象疾患は咽頭部および食道の悪性腫瘍で，ついで咽頭部および食道の良性疾患である。また咽喉頭異常感についての診断態度としては，異常感を有する患者が癌の早期診断の点で一般外来患者に比して臨床的high riskにあるグループとして，早期のあるいは微小な器質的異常の検出に適した方法を充分にとる必要があると考えている。

　今回バリウム造影検査の結果と種々の器質的異常，疾患に対する検査法の問題点と対策について報告したい。

　575 patients with abnormal sensation in the throat were examined by barium meal study for 4 years. Several kinds of organic diseases were found in 57 per cent of these series, including a few abnormalities which were thought not to contribute the abnormal sensation in the throat. Most interesting results showed the incidence of malignancy in the hypopharynx and esophagus (3.6 %), esophageal webs (12.8%) and pharyngeal diverticula (8.7%). The causes of abnormal sensation are not always related to organic changes.
