I．はじめに

　咽喉頭の炎症は咽喉頭異常感発生の重要な原因の一つとされている。しかし咽喉頭の炎症は外因的，内因的あるいは局所的，全身的といった種々の病因によりもたらされるので，同一の原因として論じることが不適当な場合がある。著者らは咽喉頭の炎症それぞれにおいて，異常感との関連性を主として治療的診断法をもとに検討した。

　A statistical analysis was carried out on 04 patients who visited our clinic in 1901 with the complaint of abnormal sensation in the throat, which was considered to be caused by local inflammation. More than half of them (33 cases) had chronic laryngitis and, or pharyngitis, and others had chronic tonsillitis (9 cases), allergy (10 cases) or mild candidiasis (12 cases).

　Foreign body feeling was the most common subjective symptom among all diseases, but the therapeutic effect was poor except for cases of chronic tonsillitis. However, irritating, drying and itching feelings were cured easily in most cases with anti-inflammatory agents.

　Generally, subjective symptoms differed in diseases, and the same subjective symptom had different therapeutic effect according to diseases. This indicated the complicated mechanism of the occurrence of abnormal sensation in the throat.
