I．緒言
非上皮性良性腫瘍である脂肪腫は全身のあらゆる部位に発生しうるが，とくに頸部，背部，肩甲部，前胸壁，乳房，大腿，殿部などの皮下組織に発生しやすいとされている。しかし頭部における発生頻度はきわめて低いという。最近われわれは側頭下窩より発生したと思われる比較的大きな脂肪腫を経験したので報告した。
A 15-year-old female patient complained of the left facial swelling for about a month.
CT revealed a large space occupying tumor with low density in left infratemporal fossa.
Biopsy taken from the left buccal region showed lipoma without malignancy. Extirpation was done under general anesthesia through the left buccal region. The tumor was a huge, smooth yellowish glistening surface mass sized 85 × 55 × 18 mm, weighted 38 grams.
Histologically the tumor was well capsulated and lobulated, filled with lipoid cells.
