I．はじめに

　頭蓋底部の病変による片側の全脳神経障害はGarcin症候群と呼ばれている。今回われわれは顔面神経麻痺を初発症状とした乳癌側頭骨転移による本症候群の1例を経験したので報告する。

　A 59-year-old woman who had undergone radical surgery for right breast cancer about 1 year and 9 months previously developed right facial palsy. In a course of about 5 months, she successively suffered from the involvement of other cranial nerves, resulting in right unilateral total cranial nerve involvement.

　The patient later died of the complication of pneumonia. Upon autopsy, her condition was histopathologically diagnosed as metastasis of solid-tubular carcinoma of the mammary gland. Metastasis was found not only in the right temporal bone but also in the pituitary gland, both lungs, liver, right adrenal gland and spine.

　This case can be regarded as one of typical Garcin's syndrome.
