I．はじめに

　先天性喉頭奇形は比較的稀な疾患であるが，呼吸障害を引き起こすことから乳幼児の身体的発達に大きな影響を及ぼすことが推察される。しかしこの奇形の中では高頻度に発症する喉頭軟弱症に自然治癒例が多いためか，先天性喉頭奇形児に関する身体的発達についてはあまり報告されていない。わずかにPhelanら^1）による報告によれば51人の喉頭軟弱症のうち未熟児で生まれた1人を除いた50例で，身体的発達は正常と述べているが経時的発達についてはふれられていない。今回筆者らは最近3年間に岐阜県立多治見病院耳鼻咽喉科を受診した先天性喉頭奇形10例について，体重増加を含め身体的発達を経時的に検討し若干の文献的考察を行ったので報告する。

　We evaluated the physical development of 10 patients with congenital laryngeal anomalies, 7 patients of laryngomalacia, a case of laryngomalacia with bilateral vocal cord paralysis, a case with subglottic stenosis and a case with laryngeal web. There was no significant difference in birth weight of the children with congenital laryngeal anomaly compared with that of normal children. The development of their height was normal, and that of the circumference of their head and chest was within the normal range. As the symptoms were manifested, they did not gain weight normally. When the symptoms were improved, their weight gain was recovered. In evaluating the prognosis, it is important to follow up the weight gain of infants with congenital laryngeal anomaly.
