　I．はじめに

　音響により聴力障害をひき起こす事はよく知られているが，音楽により難聴をきたしたとの報告は稀である。最近ロック音楽聴取後に難聴をきたした2症例を経験したので報告する。また，若者の高音障害型難聴の一因として音楽聴取をあげているLipscomb^1,2），小泉^3）らの報告もあり，見逃せない問題と思われる。そこで，ロック音楽演奏はどの程度であるか，またロック音楽により難聴が起こりうるものかどうか調べる目的で，実際にロック音楽演奏中の音量を測定し，10名のボランティアを用い聴取前後の域値変化を測定したので報告する。

　The first case, a 19-year-old boy, suffered from acute bilateral hearing impairment following the attendance to a rock-and-roll music concert. Bilateral severe hearing loss remained in spite of treatment. The second patient, a 19-year-old girl, noted bilateral tinnitus after listening to loud rock-and-roll records. Her audiogram showed bilateral c5dip. The tinnitus and hearing loss recovered within a week.

　We examined the temporary threshold shifts following a rock-and-roll concert. Ten volunteers had hearing tests just prior to and again within 39 minutes after the concert. Eight of the 20 ears showed temporary threshold shifts in excess of 15 dB on at least one frequency in the range between 1,000 and 8,000 Hz.
