　I．はじめに

　異所性甲状腺は舌根部より前頸部，固有位置の甲状腺の近く，さらに下降して胸腔内，また，発生機転とは関係ない所にも発生するといままで述べられてきた。

　多くの症例は無症状に経過し，偶然の機会に発見され子るか，内分泌機能に関係した代償性腫大や腫瘍化によって現し，発見される。

　A case, 11-year-old female, with double ectopic thyroids was reported. Aberrant locations were suspected due to abnormal embryonic migration. Findings of compensatory hypertrophy of the resected sublingual thyroid was confirmed histologically. Development of the aberrant thyroid was discussed with special references to double ectopic thyroid glands.
