　I．はじめに

　埋没耳は日本人には約400人に1人の頻度で出現し，比較的多い奇形の1つである^1）。この疾患の治療の原則は，できるだけ早期に皮下に埋没している耳介を引き出すことと^2）いわれ，従来から装具装着による方法かまたは手術による方法で治療されてきた。

　装具装着法は1歳までにすれば効果があるといわれ，それ以上の年齢ではせいぜい3歳位までしか試みられていない傾向がある^3）〜5）。われわれは手術待ちの年長児に対して行なつてみたところ成果があつたので症例を供覧するとともに若干の考察を加えてみる。

　Using a simple prosthesis for correction of cryptotia the satisfactory results were obtained, and complete correction was found in 5 cases, and a slight deformity of the ear cartilage remained in one case.

　It is supposed that complete correction is possible in the patients of the age of 8 or 9 years by using this method, and correction which may produce a slight deformity of ear cartilage is possible in the older age group.

　We suggest that this method can be applied to the patients from 3 years of age, because of the easiness of the procedure and the possibility of complete correction.
