Ⅰ．緒言
従来，扁摘（口蓋扁桃摘除術）は局麻で行なわれることが多かつたが，近年になつて全麻による扁摘が普及されるようになり，病院では全麻扁摘の機会はふえてきている。手術に対する患児の精神的，心理的な面より，また，手術による危険などを考慮すると全麻の扁摘の方が局麻よりすぐれていることが多い。
当院では，1965年以来，全麻扁摘を行なつているが，現在，われわれが使用している手術器械の紹介と，1972年に行なわれた小児の全麻扁摘例についてアンケート調査を行なつたのでその成績を報告する。
A statistical study of follow-up reports after tonsillecotomies performed under general anesthesia among children is reported. Questionaires were sent to parents of 111 cases of tonsillectomized children that were performed during the year 1972 inquiring the state of postoperative health.
Ninty six parents, 86.5%, responded. From these responses, it was shown that, frequent feverish attacks due to acute tonsillitis have been eliminated in 61 cases out of the 68, 89.7%; frequent attacks of colds reduced in 49 cases out of 76, 64.5%. Furthermore, improvements were also, seen in other symptoms such as, nasal conditions, hearing acuity, snoring, breathing and chronic otitis media.
Seventy four parents out of the 96, 77.1%, who responded were completely satisfied with the results of the operation.
