　I．はじめに

　benign osteoblastomaは，近年一つのentityとして確立された疾患で稀なものである。耳鼻咽喉科領域での報告は，私たちの検索したところでは，外国に4例を見るにすぎず，本邦では皆無である。私たちは篩骨蜂巣に発生したと思われるbenign osteoblastomaの1例を経験したので報告する。

　A case of benign osteoblastoma of the right ethmoidal sinus is reported. This is the first case of involvement of the paranasal sinus reported in the literature of this country.

　A woman, aged 60, complained of right exophthalmos for more than 30 years and ophthalmoplegia for more than 4 years. Radiologically, the tumor was an osteolytic soft tissue mass which occupied the ethmoidal and sphenoidal sinuses that expanded into the anterior cranial fossa. The growth was circumscribed by a calcified shell that measured 6×6×5.5 cm.

　The tumor was removed surgically under general anesthesia; it was reddish in color, and friable and gritty to touch. The patient made a good recovery after the operation.
