耳鳴に対する局所麻酔剤静注の効果

THE EFFECT OF INTRAVENOUS XYLOCAINE ADMINISTRATION IN TINNITUS AURIUM

　Ⅰ．序

　感音難聴に伴う耳鳴の治療は非常にむずかしく，やつかいな問題である。患者は，耳鳴のために不安や焦燥状態を示す。このような場合，耳鳴は患者自身にとつて，難聴や聾よりもずつと苦痛である。

　しかし，われわれは耳鳴を止める手段をもたなかつた。主として，感音難聴の治療をして，耳鳴の原因を徐々にとりのぞくしかなかつた。

　ところでわれわれは，めまい発作の治療に局所麻酔剤xylocaine（lidocaine）の静注を行なつてきたが，この注射が一時的にではあるが耳鳴を消失させることに気がついた。これは耳鳴の治療としては，大変有力な手段であると考えるので，ここに報告する。

　With xylocaine intravenous administration the tinnitus that accompany the deafness may be dramatically abated. In some cases the time in which the tinnitus may abate is very short less than an hour but, in other cases it may require a few day interval for similar results.

　Also, in some cases the treatment may result in some improvement of hearing but this is not the rule. The abatement of the tinnitus is not regarded as the removal of the cause but, due only to anesthetic effect of the agent.
