　Ⅰ．緒言

　咽頭・食道X線透視において，造影剤の通過が梨子状陥凹から食道入口部にかけ，左右対称的に観察されるのが通常である。しかしながら，ときにはなんらかの原因により同部造影剤の通過が非対称として観察される場合があり，本現象は非対称嚥下asymmetrical deglutitionと呼称され，X線上認められる諸種咽頭機能異常に属する一現象である。本現象の出現機序に関しては現在にいたるも不明な点が多く残されており，その機序解明はとくに下咽頭・食道移行部を中心とした咽頭の病態生理を考える上で重要で，私達はかかる目的でこれまで他の各種咽頭機能異常と同時に本現象についても観察を行ない，その臨床的意義を考える上で興味ある知見を得たので，ここに報告する。

　An irregularity of swallowing that may be considered as asymmetrical deglutition was noted in 72 persons from 681 individuals who were screened by fluorography observing the radiopaque agent passing from the mouth, pharynx and the beginning portion of the esophagus. Ha rdly any age difference was noted in the manifestation of this symptom, but, there were numerous other concommitant organic disorders that involved the pharynx, larynx and the cervical esophagus. When such symptoms as delayed deglution, repeated piecemeal deglutition and tracheal aspiration along with asymmetrical deglutition are presented, it might be suspected that other severe organic disturbances are hidden somewhere; further investigations are highly warranted.
