　I．緒言

　咽喉頭・上部食道に異常を訴えて来院する患者はわれわれ臨床医を悩ますものの1つである。これらの患者には局所的，全身的あるいは心理的な面から検査することがのぞましいとされている。しかし，われわれ第一線の医師にとつて，なにはともあれまず最初に局所的な原因を精査することから始めなければならない。そういつた意味で諸検査の一環として咽喉頭異常感症の患者に咽頭・食道のX線透視を施行した。その結果，異常感症と関係があると思われる器質的または機能的な疾患を疑わせるX線像がかなりの頻度に得られたのでここに報告する。

　Four hundred thirteen patients complaining of a lump in the throat were examined under fluoroscopic tests. One hundred fifty three cases among them showed, either, organic changes or functional disorders in the pharynx or esophagus. One case was found to be involved with cervical esophageal cancer and another case with hypopharyngeal cancer.

　If changes in the mucousal releif are present, various tests should be repeated. And, when asymmetrical deglutition and pharyngeal stasis are found it might be suspected that there are hidden somewhere organic disturbances.

　Seventy cases were found to be affected with cervical spondylosis. When considering the innervation of the larynx, pharynx and esophagus, cervical spondylosis may be regarded as one of the cause of complaint.
