　はじめに

　難聴を補うためにはいろいろな方法があるが，そのなかで補聴器がもつとも大きい効果をあげている。しかしすべての難聴者に補聴器が有効なわけではない。補聴器の購入者，使用者に対しアンケート方式で補聴器の適応と使用法を調査してみたので報告する。

　In order to investigate the true status ofhearing aid users a set of questionaire was issued to each individual for a concise reply. The following points were made clear by this procedure:

　1. The majority of aid users whose deafness is above 70 db seemed to wear their instruments constantly.

　2. If a hearing training is given to the aidusers it invariably enables them to carry on conversation with ease.

　3. The question of whether or not the individual may continue to use the hearing aid is largely dependent upon the balance with which the ease of conversation acquired by the aid, on one hand, and the embarrassing thought of instrument wearing, on the other.
