Ⅰ．緒言
近年，化学療法剤が次々と発見，或は改善されてきた反面，これら薬剤に対する耐性菌乃至感受性の比較的低い細菌が増加している。化膿性中耳炎に於ても，検出細菌に関する報告をみると，耐性ブドウ球菌，グラム陰性桿菌特に緑膿菌，変形菌等が高率に検出されている。
従来，化膿性中耳炎の治療には数多くの薬剤が耳漏の停止を目的として使用されてきたが，最近は抗生物質の単独点耳のみでなく，諸種副腎ホルモンの併用点耳により，より優れた効果を得ることが認められた。これは中耳炎が単に細菌感染のために惹起されるのではなく，他に諸種の要因が複合していることから考えると当然のことといえる。
Colimycin F otitic solution was used in the treatment of acute otitis media in 12 ears, chronic otitis media in 21 ears, of cholestea-tomatous otitis media in 6 ears and of posto-perative mastoid in 12 ears. The effectivene-ss of the agent was shown in the following order:
1) In acute otitis media it was effective in 10 ears; somewhat effective in 2 ears.
2) In chronic otitis media, effective in 14 ears; somewhat effective in 6 ears; not effective in 1 ear.
3) In cholesteatomatous otitis media, effec- tive in 1 ear; somewhat effective in 5 ears.
4) In complications of mastoid operation, effective in 9 ears; somewhat effective in 2 ears.
