幼児聴力相談室の実施状況（第1報）

　緒言

　学童の難聴は学校衛生上特に重要視されオージオメーターの導入により精密な検査が行われ，適切な指導がなされる様になつたが，入学前の幼児の難聴及び言語障害に対しては系統的検査は行われて居らず，早期発見が遅れ勝ちである。尤もPlay Audiometryが普及して来た今日3歳以上の幼児であれば比較的容易に聴力測定が可能であり，信頼出来る診断がつけられる様になつて来たが，3歳以下の幼児に対しては適当な検査法が殆んどなく，多くの場合その概略しか判らず被検児が大きくなるのを待っより仕方がないという状態である。我々は3歳以下に対する種々な検査法を利用して昭和35年9月より乳幼児難聴の早期発見及び言語障害の適切な指導を目的として「幼児聴力相談室」を設置し，聴力及び言語障害についての相談を受けている。まだ開設されたばかりで充分効果的に活動しているとはいい難いが，とりあえず開設以来の概要を報告し諸賢の御鞭達をお願いする次第である。

A special consulting department for hearing among infants was established since Septem-ber 1960.So far, the average of 14 individ-uals a month made use of this facility and the majority was among those whose ages ranging from 1 to 6, 87.2%,One third of this number wasefound to he affected with total deafness and inner ear deafness ; one fourth was due to mental difficiency and consecuent speech difficulty. It was interesting to note that a close blood marriage was high in inci-dence among the history of these cases.
