腫瘍と誤られたフイラリヤ性耳介象皮症

　ひとり我が領域のみではないが近時腫瘍殊に悪性腫瘍の増加が注目され，真剣にこの対策が検討されだした事は慶賀至極である。

　我々が遭遇する多くの場合は喉頭，上顎，或いは咽頭等で聴器のそれは少なく，特に耳介の腫瘍は良性悪性その何れを問わず極めて稀である。

Shibata reports a case of filarial infestation that caused pachydermis in the lobes both ears and areas below and adjacent to them. These tumors in the patient a man aged 72 began to be noticeable about at the age of 45 : the prog-ress of the enlargement was gradual. During this period the patient had undergone surgi-cal removal of the growth on 2 separate occasions. But, each time an year or two later the growth enlarged to the sizes they were before. The diagnosis of filaria on present instance was made by microecopicexamination of the tissue removed which was confirmed by other physical examinations and augmented by the fact that the patient is a resident of filaria infested locality.
