Glomus tumors are painful benign tumors originating from the glomus apparatus at the arteriovenous anastomosis. Glomus tumors account for <1.6 % of all soft tissue tumors, and 65 %–75 % of these tumors are known to occur in the fingers, especially under the nailfold. There have been few reports of glomus tumors occurring outside the fingers, and those occurring in the head and neck region are very rare. We describe our experience with a glomus tumor of the auricle that developed in a 33-year-old male, and we discuss the relevant literature.
