　緒言

　扁桃性疾患に関する研究は，主として病巣感染を研究対照とする関係上，慢性炎症の場合の報告が多数を占め，急性炎症に際しては検索は従来余り行われていなかった。

　最近鈴木（弘）^1）2）氏は扁桃の急性疾患として，腺窩性扁桃炎に就て臨床的に，細菌学的に，並びに心電図学的に検索を行つて，その成績を報告されているが，吾々は扁桃周囲膿瘍が内臓々器に及ぼす影響について検索したので，特に心電図学的検査成績を中心に報告する次第である。

Suzuki and associates made studies on cases of peritonsillar abcess by means of urinalysis, bacteria examination and electrocardiogram before and after the adoption of such procedure as either, the drainage or tonsillectomy. The changes that may be found by various methods of examinations mentioned before the operati-ve procedure have a tendency to be recovered by 66.6 to 100% at a period week after insti-tution of such a procedure. When moliodol is injected into peritonsillar space similar physical changes as when peritonsillar abcess may be present will be found. The author believes that Reilly phenomenon is highly responsible in the mechanism of establishment of such changes.
