口蓋扁桃剔出術後の疼痛に就て（特に持続性局所麻酔剤Longcainの効果より論ず）

　巷間口蓋扁桃の手術は痛いと云う声は今尚よく聞く所である。これは結局々所麻酔のやゝきゝにくい膿瘍時扁剔の若干の場合を除いては，術後痛から受ける印象に因るものであろう。私は過去20年の間経験した扁剔の中には，何等特別の処置を施さなくても術後の自発痛及嚥下痛を訴えなかつた例を若年者の何人かに経験した記憶はあるが，殆んどの場合聞き質せば多かれ少かれ術後痛は訴へられるので，従来此れを緩解する為に，「グレラン」末，「セデス」末等の内服及び「アネステヂン」末の局所への散布を行つて来た。これで大体目的を達せられたが，時折本人から予期以上の疼痛を訴えられることがあつた。

　1953年神尾は術後痛のうち，特に自発痛の成因を探究検討し，広義の「ロイマチス」性の神経痛と想定し，Vit. B₁を用いて，その効果を推奨したが，この自発痛を訴える時間は嚥下痛に比較すると，遙かに短く問題は嚥下痛である。この両者ともども尚一段と緩解出来れば被術者，術者共に幸な事である。

　Taguchi reports that, by application of anesthetic agent which is known as that of sustained-action, the postoperative pain and difficulty in swallowing that are invariably met with within the few days follwing tonsillectomy are either eliminated or greatly relieved. From this observation it appears that the posterior pillar is much more sensative than the anterior. The use of this agent, asid from causing transient hoarseness, appears to be harmless: its use does not cause local tissue deaths nor hemorrhage : neither does it interfere with the normal process in healing of the wound.
