Caloric testに於ける潜伏時間の意義

　1）Caloric testは日常最もしばしば行われている前庭機能検査法であるが，人によつてその方法に多少の差があるし，成績の判定も人によつてまちまちである。成績判定のIndicatorとして潜伏時間，眼振持続時間の何れに重きをおくかも学者によつて異るが，今日一般に内外の多くの学者は眼振持続時間に重きをおいているようである。殊にSchmalzおよびDohlmann等が側頭骨の熱伝導に関する研究から潜伏時間は側頭骨の解剖学的構造によつて左右されることを明らかにして以来潜伏時間の意義は一層低くみられるに至つたようである。わが国の多くの学者は勿論，Hallpike，Barbey，Jongkees等の外国の学者も潜伏時間には殆んど重きをおいていないようである。

　私は日常臨床検査法としてのCaloric testを種々の面から検討しているものであるが，以下述べるような理由から眼振持続時間のみならず，同時に潜伏時間の意義も充分高く評価すべきであると考えるに至つたのでその概要を発表し，御批判を得たい。

　INO devises a method, Z-test, to obtain the value of true latent period that exists in the caloric test of labyrinth. It is found that in the latent period there is that of the true and that of the apparent. For diagnostic purposes the localization of a lesion is enhanced with a possible greater precision when the result of the Z-test is considered together with that of directional preponderance test. The author stresses the significance of the value of latent period in caloric test.
