ペニシリン，マイシン洗滌療法に依る脳膿瘍め1治験例

　緒言

　最近の種々なる化学薬品，或は抗生物質の進歩は従来の外科的療法に大なる変化をもたらした。耳鼻科方面に於ても勿論此等の薬品の使用に依り，其の治療成績に於て従来とは格段の効果をあげて居る事は衆知の如くである。

　私は，最近ペニシリン，マイシンに依る脳膿瘍の洗滌療法に依り，側頭骨の徹底的の手術と相俟つて極めて速に側頭葉膿瘍を治癒せしめた症例を経験致しましたので茲に発表し諸賢の御批判を仰ぐ次第である。

IWATAKE reports a case of chronic otitis media with complications of petrositis and pari-etal lobe abcess. The diagnosis of petrositis was made by roentgenography which showed a bony defect at the tip of that strutcure. The brain abcess was discovered during the course of radical operation on the mastoid and other parts of the parietal bone. Following the drainage of the abcess no attempt was made to insert drainage gauge into that cavity but in the after-care it was carefully irrigated with penicillin-streptomycln solution. The patient made uneventfull recovery with early healing of the operative wound. The author advocates the thorough removal of any bony tissues of the parietal bone which might de involved but, as to the treatment of cranial abcess the use of bland agents such as lt has been employed here incapable of causing severe disturbances appears to be that of choice.
