　軟口蓋麻痺と云えば，一般医家は勿論のこと，我々でも先ずヂフテリア性後麻痺を考え易い。事実，ヂフテリア後麻痺の85％は軟口蓋麻痺であると云われているから，それも無理からぬことである．然し，軟口蓋麻痺は病名ではなく，1つの症候であるから，所謂非ヂフテリア性軟口蓋麻痺も臨床上問題にされても差支えない．

　最近，私は斯樣な非ヂフテリア性軟口蓋麻痺の3例を経験し，2・3の点に興味を覚えたので，簡単に報告し，批判を仰ぐことにする．

SAKATA calls attention to the fact that, aside from diphtheritic origin, paralysis of the soft pala-te may be caused by various source of irritants s-uch as, thermal stimulation from electric hair-dryer, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or an untoward reacti-on during the process in anesthetization of tympanic membrane. Clinically it is interesting to note that with the latter cause a facial nerve palsy may be concommittantly established.
