Ⅰ．はじめに

　放射線照射による頸部頸動脈狭窄症では，通常の頸動脈内膜剥離術（carotid endarterectomy：CEA）と異なり，周囲組織の癒着による頸動脈の露出が困難な場合や，血管全層にわたる病変のため肥厚内膜の剥離が困難な場合が多いとされている．近年，本疾患に対する治療法として，ステントを併用した経皮的血管形成術（percutaneous transluminal angioplasty：PTA）の有用性が報告されている^5,11）が症例数は非常に少なく，また本邦における報告はきわめて少ない．今回，われわれは，本疾患を有する3症例に対して，ステントを併用した血管形成術を行い，良好な結果を得たので報告する．

We report three cases of radiation-induced carotid arterial stenosis that underwent successful angioplasty with stenting. The patients had received radiation therapy for tongue or laryngeal cancers and developed minor completed strokes 6 to 14 years after irradiation. All patients had multiple and bilateral stenosis, measuring more than 50%, of the carotid arteries. The stenosis was located in the internal, external, and common carotid arteries. We performed percutaneous transluminal angioplasty with stenting. All interventions were successful and carotid stenosis de-creased to less than 28%. No permanent complications occurred.
