I．はじめに

　鍼治療は腰痛症，各種神経痛，肩凝り，頭痛をはじめとし，多くの疾患に対して広く適応があるとされ普及している^14）．しかし．鍼治療に伴う合併症もいくつかみられ，伏針もそのうちの1つである，最近われわれは頸髄内へ刺入した伏針を全身麻酔下に何ら神経症状を残さず摘出し得た症例を経験したので報告する．

Acupuncture has been widely performed for the treatment of many different disorders in Japan. Several complications of acupuncture such as pneumothorax, cardiac tamponade, serum hepatitis have been reported. Accidentally broken needle is also one of the causes of complications of acupunc-ture. Usually it produces little problem, but may cause spinal cord injury, as presented by this report.

The patient was a 49-year-old man who received an acupuncture procedure in his left nuchal region for shoulder pain. During acupuncture the needle was accidently broken.
