著明な頭蓋内外進展をきたしMRIが有用であったGlomus jugulare tumorの1例

Glomus Jugulare Tumor with Intra-and Extracranial Extension: A case report with MRI study

I．はじめに

　glomus jugulare tumorは側頭骨頸静脈球付近より発生する腫瘍で，その多くは耳鼻科領域で扱われてきた．今回われわれは脳幹部を圧迫し，著明な頭蓋内外進展をきたした1例を経験した．MRI（magnetic resonance imaging）は，診断，治療に際し，腫瘍の進展様式およびその広がりを知る上で非常に有用であった．本腫瘍について若干の文献的考察を加え報告する．

A case of glomus jugulare tumor with intra- and extracranial extension is described. The patient was a 63-year-old woman who complained of gait and mem-ory disturbances. On admission neurological examina-tion revealed recent memory disturbance, left deafness, left XL XIIth cranial nerve palsies, and slight ataxic gait. Roentgenogram of the skull showed an enlarged left jugular foramen with bone erosion.
