術前照射が著効を呈した髄膜腫の1例

Radiosensitive Meningioma: Report of a case

I．はじめに

　髄膜腫の放射線治療は，悪性髄膜腫の術後や再発例，頭蓋外転移例に対して行われ，有効であったとの報告は少なくない^{1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 13, 21）}．しかし髄膜腫の術前照射に関する報告は比較的少ない^{3, 4, 8, 21，22）}．最近われわれは，優位半球の前および中頭蓋窩へと発育した巨大な蝶形骨縁髄膜腫に対し術前照射を行い，著効を呈した症例を経験したので報告する．

The patient was a 24-year-old male who was ad-mitted to the Dept. of Neurosurgery of Miyazaki Medical College in April of 1982 with a history of generalized convulsive seizures.

Neurological examination on admission revealed slight mental disturbance, bilateral marked papil-loedema and homonymous right upper quadrantan-opsia. Plain skull X-ray films showed a destructive change of the bone in the left sphenoid ridge and sella floor. CT scan showed a huge mass of slightly high density in the left anterior and middle fossae with a marked enhancement with contrast media.
