I．はじめに

　後頭蓋窩硬膜外血腫は従来稀な疾患とされ，金頭部外傷のわずか0.3％^3,7,10）を占めるにすぎず，また天幕上の硬膜外血腫と比較しても全硬膜外血腫の約7％^7,12）といわれる．しかしながらこれらの統計は，すべてcomputed tomography　（CT）導入以前のものであり，CT導入以後はそれほど珍しいものではないと思われる．事実われわれの施設では，CT導入以前の3年間には1例の経験ももたなかったが，CT導入後1979年3月から1980年2月までの1年間に5例の後頭蓋窩硬膜外血腫を経験している．このことはまさにCT scanの後頭蓋窩血腫診断における有用性を物語っていると思われる．

　われわれは自験例5例（手術群3例，非手術群2例）のCT所見を中心に述べ，文献上CT所見の記載のある後頭蓋窩硬膜外血腫の14例を合わせて検討し，手術適応に関連して若干の考察を加えて報告する．

Five cases of epidural hematoma of the posterior fossa were reported.

CT findings of epidural hematoma of the posterior fossa were investigated in 19 cases including 14 cases in the literature, and they were summarized as follows:

1) The shape of the hematomas was lenticular in almost all cases. The high density of the hematomas was shown in all cases, and characteristically membranous high density areas with lucency were shown in 7 cases.
