末梢神経系は神経系の生理化学的研究の上で有利な点も多く，最近の研究の進歩は目覚ましいものがある。末梢神経系の生化学的研究対象として，末梢のアセチルコリンリセプターなども含まれるが，ここでは主に軸索とミエリンの蛋白質に焦点を絞って，最近筆者の出席したいくつかの国際学会の報告を兼ねて，トピックスを紹介したい。
Abstract
Biochemical studies in molecular basis on pe-ripheral nerve proteins are reviewed in this article. This article includes following six sections : 1) Proteins in peripheral nervous system, 2) Proteins in the excitable membrane, 3) Sodium channel proteins, 4) Myelin proteins in peripheral nervous system, 5) P2 protein and experimental allergic neuritis (EAN) and 6) Characteristics and me-tabolism of myclin glycoproteins in peripheral nervous system.
Sodium channel proteins are studied by photo-affinity labeling with a tetrodotoxin analogue in electrophorus electricus electroplax membranes.
