Ultrasonic Diagnosis of Intracranial Disease

I．はじめに

　音を利用した診断は古くから聴診法，打診法として発達し，これらの方法はすべて入間の聴覚や触覚で感知することの出来る比較的低い周波数の音，即ち弾性振動を応用したものである。これに反して，ここに述べる超音波を利用した診断法は超音波と云う特性によつてその取扱いは特殊な方法によらねばならない。

　超音波とは，一般には可聴領域より高い周波数の音，周波数で示すならば約16,000c/s以上の音と了解されている。

　The clinical values of ultrasonic diagnosisof intracranial disease, especially for braintumor was presented.

　A-scope indication method and frequencyof 1-10 megacycle ultrasonic pulsed wavethrough the scalp was used. A specially miniature transducer was used for the examination of brain through dura mater and transoral examination. The brain tumor was detected by an abnormal echo pattern due to itsspecific acoustical structures and displacement of third ventricle echo.

　This examination is no harm to the patientand especially useful for the patients underserious conditions.
