Neural control of muscle proteins

はじめに

　骨格筋はその機能に適応した物理化学的性質を持っておりその機能分化は胎生期では未完成であるが生後筋機能に応じて完成するわけである。この際神経系が重要な役割を果たすと考えられている^＊。哺乳動物の骨格筋は生理学的に2種類すなわちtonicとphasicな筋肉に大別される。tonicな筋は姿勢保持に必要であり長時間活動でき，酸化的燐酸化にそのエネルギー源を求めている。一方phasicな筋肉は一定期間内の激しい運動に使用される。そのエネルギー源はもっぱら嫌気性解糖に依存している。最近の組織化学の進歩により骨格筋はもっと複雑にタイプ分けされているが，本項では白筋はいわゆるfast twitch white，すなわちtype Ⅱ fiber，赤筋はslow twitch redすなわちtype Ⅰ fiberであると限定し話を進めることにしたい。本研究の目的は骨格筋を構成する筋構造蛋白が神経系によりどのように調節されているかを考察することにある。

Mammalian skeletal muscles fall into two broad categories, tonic and phasic. In 1960, Buller etal. demonstrated that by reinnervating a slow muscle with a nerve which normally supplies a fast one, the contraction of slow muscle became appreciably faster and vice versa. This was the first demonstration that certain physiological properties of muscle are not immutably determined during ontogenesis, but are subject to experimental mo-dification in the adult.
