　われわれは，Alzheimer病とPick病の形態的特徴を示した非定型初老期痴呆症の剖検例^12）で，死後2時間で採取された電顕用組織を検索したが，生検材料とほとんど変わらない超微構造の保存が得られた。ここで老人斑，Alzheimer原線維変化（以下A変化），Pick小体，顆粒空胞変性，平野小体，血管壁へのアミロイドの沈着などを詳細に観察することができた。本編ではここで観察された老人斑におけるneurofilamentのtwisted tubulesへの転換とPick小体とA変化の構造上の関連性について以下に報告する。

Specimens for EM were taken at early autopsy from the inferior temporal gyrus of a case with neuropathological features of both Alzheimer's disease and Pick's disease.

In senile plaques, those degenerated axons that contained both neurofilaments and twisted tubules altogether were frequently noted (Fig. 3). More-over, neurofilaments occasionally exhibited structure of twisted tubules partially (Fig. 4). These observa-tions may suggest that twisted tubules are formed by transformation of proliferated neurofilaments.
