Striato-nigral Degenerationの神経病理—Olivopontocerebellar Atrophyに近縁なこのMultiple System AtrophyとIdiopathic Paralysis Agitansとの対比

Striato-nigral degeneration, a form of multiple system atrophy allied to olivopontocerebellar atrophy: A neuropathological study with special reference to its comparison with idiopathic paralysis agitans

　臨床的にparkinsonismまたはその関連疾患と診断され，剖検された症例の病理組織変化は病変の分布，性格，程度などの点で多様である。そのうちで1964年Adamsら^1）によって報告されたstriato-nigral degenerationはidiopathic paralysis agitansの主病変部位である黒質に加えて線条体の変性萎縮を呈するもので，類似の剖検報告は今日20数例^{2,18,21,23,28,35,45,49）}に達するがidiopathic paralysis agitansと全く別の疾患であるのか否かも充分論議されたとはいえず，一方ではspinocerebellar degeneration，motor neuron diseaseあるいはHuntington's choreaなどとの類似性ないし移行が問題とされ，その位置づけと病因はいまだ不明といわざるを得ない。

　Two sporadic cases of striato-nigral degeneration clinically manifested by parkinsonism and marked autonomic failure were reported.

　Case 1. The man developed tremor of hands at 35 years of age. At 58 he began to have sexual impotence. Next year he began to have occasional syncopal attacks and noted increasing intensity of tremor.
