緒言
睾丸回転症は睾丸捻転症あるいは精索捻転症とも呼ばれている。1840年Delarsiauveの報告以来欧米ではCampbellによれば既に600例以上の報告があり，わが国でも田中によれば300余例の報告がある。それほど稀有の疾患とは言えないが早期の診断は必ずしも容易ではない。睾丸の壊死を免れるためにはできるだけ早期に診断することが必要である。われわれの病院では1963年3月より1975年2月までの12年間に6例の睾丸回転症を経験した。なお第1例は1933年に経験し橋本義雄，服部敏良により発表されている。
From 1933 to 1975, seven cases of the testicular torsion were operated at our hospital. Their ages were 2, 23, 27 and the other four cases were in the adolescence from 14 to 19.
Four were on the left and the other 3 on the right. One case was thought to be caused by jumping. In another one, vasectomy was performed a month before. But in all other cases, symptoms began at night without any reasonable cause. Orchiectomy was the rule except for one case who underwent orchiopexy within 5 hours after the onset of symptoms.
