緒言
Gartner’s ductすなわちmesonephric ductの遺残物の最初の記録は，1681年，Malpighi1）による牛の子宮における管状構造物の記載にまでさかのぼるという。その後，約140年間この管状構造物について顧みる者もなかつたが，1822年，Gartner2）は牛の子宮におけるリンパ管の検索中にこの管状構造物を再発見し，vas deferensと比較検討し，発生学的見地からmesonephric duct（Wolffan duct）の遺残物であろうと推論した。これ以後，女性におけるmesonephric ductの遺残物はGartner’s ductと呼ぼれるようになつた。
Rieder3）は，全年齢層にわたる女子40名中8名（20％）にGartner’s ductを見出しており，Gartner’s ductの存在は決して稀なものではないと考えられる。しかし，これが嚢腫化したGartner’sduct cystは比較的稀なものであり，著者らの検索によると本邦では22例が報告されているにすぎない。しかもそのほとんどが産婦人科領域からの報告であり，泌尿器科領域からの報告および検討はあまりなされていない。
Herein reported is a case of Gartner's duct cyst associated with cystocele in a 51 years old woman with urinary frequency and a history of recurrent fever attacks. Physical examination revealed a cystic protrusion of the anterior vaginal wall. Cystogram by upright position showed funnel shaped bladder below the symphysis pubis. Surgery by the method of Marshall, Marchetti and Krantz was performed under the diagnosis of cystocele. A cystic mass, 3 cm in diameter found at the middle portion of the anterior vaginal wall during surgery, was removed vaginally. Gross examination showed a cyst containing dark brown mucinous material.
