Case Report: Salivary Duct Cyst in the Mandibular Angle

はじめに

　一般的に顔面の皮下腫瘤は，整容面から切除を希望する患者が数多く，切除生検となる例も少なくない。今回われわれは，わが国では比較的まれな疾患であるsalivary duct cystと診断された1例を経験し，術前診断に難渋したため報告する。

　We report the case of a 75-year-old male in whom a subcutaneous mass at the mandible was resected and diagnosed as a salivary duct cyst based on histological findings. The differentiation of such masses based on the clinical findings alone is not easy, and surgical resection is usually necessary for the diagnosis. Clinicians must pay close attention to the positional relationship between similar masses and the facial nerves and consider the potential for postoperative complications such as sialorrhea and facial nerve paralysis. Our patientʼs postoperative course was uneventful.
