緒言
いろいろの原因で発生するインターセックスにおいて女性と決定した場合，陰核肥大を伴う症例では患者の精神面や外観上の問題，家族の希望などから肥大した陰核に対する処置が必要となる。
このため従来より陰核肥大に対しては陰核切除術が行なわれてきており，この場合成人に達してからの性生活において陰核は必ずしも必要でないという考えが基礎となつている。しかし，陰核切除術を受けた症例が成人に達した後の追跡調査は未だ十分でないため，本来存在する陰核は極力保存した方がよいという考えから最近は陰核を保存する陰核形成術も報告されてきている。
After the sex has been established as female in infant with intersexual abnormalities, surgical treatment of hypertrophied clitoris is necessary.
In the past, when the theory that possession of clitoris not being essential for orgasm in the female was believed, simple clitorectomy was widely carried out. But since it has been known that clitoris clearly has a relation to sexual stimulation and to gratification, its presence is desirable.
In order to preserve the clitoris in patients with intersexual abnormalities, several methods of clitroplasty have been reported.
