I．緒言
1586年M．Donatusは，既に精液の排出障害の原因として前立腺結石の存在を示唆して以来断片的にその存在が報告されていた。1762年Morgagniは結石の原因がJod反応で澱粉様反応を示す物質でありこれをCorpora amylaceaと命名しThompson（1861），Guyon（1899），などによつて前立腺結石の発生，病理診断，治療が確立されて来た。以後Kretschmer（1918），Lowsley（1938），Funfack（1948）などによつて多数例の統計的報告が見られる。一方本邦では1910年折茂がその第1例を報告して以来多数の症例報告を見るようになつた。稲田（1966）は全国の結石症統計を行ない，昭和30年には尿石患者3143例中前立腺結石は72例（2.2％）であつたものが昭和39年には尿石症7764例中319例（3.9％）と増加していると報告しこの間10年の尿石症例56426例中前立腺結石1758例（3.0％）を上回つていることを報告している。
しかし，一方これを年齢別に見れば，30歳以下とそれ以後を比較すると30歳以下では僅かに47例でその他は30歳以後に見られ特に61歳より70歳までの間に最も高い頻度を示している。
Prostatic calculi is not a uncommon disease neither an entity for surgical removement. But once it is complicated with various symptoms, then surgical removal of the stone and surrounding diseased prostate becomes necessary.
Surgical procedures, such as perineal, suprapubic, retropubic and transurethral removements has been advocated.
14 cases of prostatic calculous disease were treated by the transurethral route. This approach is recommended because with good visualization, total removement of all prostatic calculi without complication. Convalescence is similar to those after ordinary prostatic resection.
