　女性脊髄損傷患者2例に対して膀胱瘻造設術と尿道閉鎖術を行った。2例とも尿道カテーテルを長期留置したことにより尿道括約筋機能不全を生じており，カテーテル周囲からの尿漏れとカテーテルの自然抜去を頻回に繰り返していた。尿道は直接縫合して閉鎖した。この手技は簡便で低侵襲であり，今後，同様の症例には積極的に考慮してもよい術式の1つと考えられた。

　We performed suprapubic cystostomy and urethral closure in two female patients with spinal cord injury. They had been using urethral catheter for several years for neurogenic bladder. Because of prolonged catheterization,urinary incontinence continued around the urethral catheter occurred and became uncontrollable. A few operative techniques are described for urethral closure. We performed modified Nagamatsu's method because of it's symplicity. After operation patients achieved continence. Urethral closure was thought to be one of the operations positively indicated in the management of female incontinence.
